August 26th began for Christiana Firefighters at 0600hrs when Ladder 12 was dispatched to assist Minquas of Newport Fire Co (23) on a working house fire on State street. Ladder 12 arrived as first Truck and operated for over 2 hours. Shortly after members were cooling off from training a Local Box was dispatched for a extinguished kitchen fire in the Salem Woods development of the district. Assistant Chief 6(6-8B) arrived and upgraded the alarm to a full Box with RIT and EMS finding a kitchen fire that was extending. Engine & Ladder 12, Deputy 6 arrived and handled with assist from mutual aide companies. Fire was contained to the kitchen and some extension to the second floor. One resident was transported for minor injuries.
