General Fire Alarm Upgraded to Working Alarm - 300 Brandywine Drive

At 18:59 hours, Engine 12-6 responded to a report of a general fire alarm in the 300 block of Brandywine Drive, Brandywine Woods Apartments. Upon arrival, the crew discovered smoke coming from the building and upgraded the alarm. Delaware City and Wilmington Manor Fire Companies were dispatched. Deputy Chief Rich Perillo assumed Brandywine Drive Command. The crew from 12-6 made the hydrant connection and deployed an 1.75" line to the front of the residence. Upon further investions, it was discovered that a small fire had been extinguished by the building sprinkler system. Deputy Chief Perillo reduced the assignment to 12-6, 12-5, Wilmington Manor Ladder 28 and Engine 32-4. Crews checked for extension, removed the debris and deployed fans to clear smoke from the building. Command placed the scene under control at 19:36 hours. The last units cleared at 20:05 hours.
