It is with great sadness that the Christiana Fire Company announces the passing of Past Chief - Past President James T. Moore. Chief Moore was a Life Member who joined the Company in 1937. He held a number of positions during his active years with the Company Obituary Age 90 years, of Newark, DE went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 24, 2009 at his home with his family by his side. Mr. Moore was the co-owner of Moore Brother's Inc. Electrical Contractors, a family owned business which he went into following his service for our country in the US Army during WWII. Mr. Moore was a 72 year member of Christiana Volunteer Fire Company and held every office through the years. He was also a life member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs. He was a 32 degree Mason and member of Hiram Lodge, Newark, DE. He was a major Phillies fan and also enjoyed collecting memorabilia and antiques. Mr. Moore is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Ellen L. Moore; 3 sons: James T. Moore, Jr., and wife, Janet; William C.Moore and wife, Diana; and George D. Moore; 2 daughters: Marjorie M. Hitchens and husband, Charles, and Rebecca M. DiAngelo and husband, Michael; a brother C. Frank Moore; a sister, Louise Burnett; 8 grandchildren: James T. III, Jenai, Gregory, Jill, Marjie Ann, Charles, Jr., Christopher, and Jennifer; 5 great grandchildren: Taylor, Jazelle, Trent, Ryanne, Kyle and Hunter. Mr.Moore is preceded in death by his parents, John W, Sr, and Ella Cora (Taylor) Moore; 3 brothers: John, Joseph and Thomas moore; 3 sisters, Ella Dunsmore; Elizabeth Baker and Sarah Morrison. Relatives and friends are invited to Mr. Moore's Life Celebration on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 11:00 am in Asbury United Methodist Church, 300 E. Basin Rd., New Castle, DE 19720. Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be sent to either: Asbury UM Church, Christiana Volunteer Fire Company, 2 E.
