Working Fire in Carriage Run - New Castle, DE

On January 20th Christiana, Wilmington Manor and Minquas of Newport were alerted to a residential fire in Carriage Run off Airport Road. Assistant Chief Lutz arrived to find smoke coming from the home. Engine 126 arrived and laid 5" hose from the corner hydrant. An attack line was stretched and attack was made on the fire through the front door. Ladder 28 arrived and conducted the primary search of the home. Ladder 28's OVM (Kiger) cleared the first floor windows, threw ground ladders and secured utilities. Engine 23 from Minquas arrived and stretched a backup line through the front door. The fire was knocked down and there was no extension. The searches proved negative. Captain Moorhead was the Safety Officer, Chief Saggione had accountability, Asst Chief Lutz had interior and Captain Leonard was the search group. Chief Schoeffler was the RIT group.
