On Jan 4th Engine 12 was alerted to Prospect Ave in Newark for a residential fire. Chief 78B (Aetna) arrived and reported a working fire. Engine arrived and completed searches and checked for extension. The Engine cleared in about 30 minutes. There were no injuries. On Jan 9th at 0300 Christiana was dispatched for a MVC with a person trapped. Engine 126 and Ambulance 12 arrived to find one person trapped in the car on Rt 1 at School Bell Rd. A side wall and roof removal was performed. Engine 216 (Mill Creek Fire Company) also responded from a previous MVC and assisted with the extrication. The patient was removed in 10 minutes and transported to Christiana trauma center. Deputy Chief Cowperthwait had command and units cleared in 30 minutes.
