On Wednesday March 16th a Box alarm was dispatched for 455 Old Porter Road for a house on fire. Engine 66 arrived with the Duty Chief to find a 3 story private dwelling involved. A defensive strategy was taken. The first alarm assignment was held while the vacant home was wet down. Crews remained on the scene for two hours. On Thursday March 17th Engine 12 and Deputy Chief 6 responded as the third due Engine on a trailer fire in Delaware City. Rescue 15 (DE city) arrived to find smoke showing from a single wide trailer. The Engine crew and Chief were assigned overhaul. CFC units remained on the scene for 30 minutes. On Friday afternoon March 18 a box alarm assignment was dispatched to Coventry for a garage on fire. Ladder 12 arrived first to find a garage on fire with the siding melting on the B and D exposure. Engine 12 arrived and secured a water supply from a hydrant in front of the home. A 1" 3/4 line was deployed and the fire was quickly controlled. One person was burned and was transported to Christiana trauma center by BLS/ALS. There was minor extension to both homes. The assignment was scaled back in about 10 minutes. Units remained on the scene for 45 minutes. On Friday evening March 18 Christiana and area companies were alerted to Firebird Restaurant for a commercial building fire. At the time of the call Engine 66 was responding to a AFA, Engine 36 and 126 were responding to a MVC. Engine 126 redirected to the fire. Engine 236(Minquas) and Ladder 12 arrived to find a fire in the duct work with extension to the roof. Two attack lines were deployed to the first floor by E23 and E12. Ladder 12 conducted the primary search and opened up for the Engines. Ladder 17(Five Points) laddered the roof. Engine 36 deployed a handline to the roof to extinguish fire around the duct work. Engine 21 (Millcreek) and Squirt 30(Belvedere) had the RIT group. Companies remained on the scene for two and half hours. There were no injuries.
