On May 4th Stations 22 and 20 and the technical rescue team were alerted for a man fallen down an elevator shaft. The address was on New Castle Ave at the Swim club. Ladder 12 responded with four technicians. EMS arrived to find man injured at the bottom of the elevator shaft. Ladder 12's crew worked with the Rescue group leader (Haley Deputy 13) to remove the male from the elevator shaft. The patient was taken to Christiana trauma center. Ladder 12 cleared in one hour. One May 10th Christiana Fire Company and area units were alerted to apartment fire at the Prides Court Apts. Engine 126 and the District commander quickly responded. While responding an extra Engine and Truck were added to the assignment for reports of people trapped. Engine 12 arrived to find smoke showing. A water supply was secured and a line deployed. The fire was held to the kitchen. Searches proved negative and the assignment was scaled back to 2 and 1. One resident was transported to Christiana Trauma center for a laceration. Crews remained on the scene for 45 minutes.
