On January 30th at 1244 Engine 12 was clearing a fire alarm as a Trailer fire at Box 2165 was upgraded to a working alarm. Engine 12 as well as Ambulance 12 were assigned as the extra engine and ambulance on the working fire assignment. The Crew arrived and assisted with overhaul. The company operated for 2 hours before being released by command.

On January 31st at 0404 Box 80 was sounded for a odor of smoke in a multiple dwelling. As units were responding the 911 center received additional calls of a working fire with people trapped. Engine 12 arrived with fire on two floors and two residents burned in the front of the building. Chief 9 arrived and transmitted the second alarm. Engine 12 stretched an attack line and extinguished fire on the 1st floor and public hallway. Searched were negative. Both patients were taken to Christiana trauma center in critical condition. Engine 12 and Engine 3 and Deputy Chief 6 operated for 5 hours
