House fire

On March 17 a box alarm was transmitted for a attached garage on fire in Wrangle Hill Estates off Porter Rd. Engine 12 was clearing a fire alarm and responded. Engine 6 an 3 also responded. Engine 3,6,12 and Ladder 15 arrived at about the same time to find fire showing from a two story home. The fire attack was started and searches conducted. All searches were negative. The fire was knocked down however the fire got into the attic of the home. Several attack lines were stretched and the fire was controlled in the entire home in twenty minutes. There were no injuries. Units operated for three hours. The Delaware State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

While units were operating at Wrangle Hill Estates Engine 16 acting as Engine 12 was alerted to the University of Delaware Farm Complex for a house on fire. Chief 9 arrived to find a non residential building on fire. The fire was quickly controlled by Engine 9,Ladder 9 and Engine 16. Units remained on the scene for one hour.
