Apartment Fire and Water Rescue

On Easter afternoon Box 1215 was transmitted for a multiple dwelling fire in Wilton. Engine 12 and Deputy Chief 12 arrived with smoke showing from the 1st floor. Engine 12 secured a water supply and stretched an attack line. Ladder 28 arrived next and completed the side C report as well as the primary search. The Engine and Ladder found one room of fire with extension into the hallway. All searches were negative. Engine 18 and Rescue /Engine 3 arrived next with the Engine placing the backup line in service and the Rescue Engine checking for extension and completing the searches in the adjoining apartments. At the 20 minute mark the assignment was scaled back to Engine 12,6,18, Ladder 28 and Rescue Engine 3,  There were no injuries.

 

On April 21st Marine unit 12 was alerted to a water rescue assignment on Kirkwood Hwy at the Cranston Heights Bridge. A 911 call was received stating a person had jumped from the bridge. All searches of the area and water ways proved negative.
