Fires and MVC with Entrapment

On August 10th, Christiana Fire Company was dispatched to an MVC with entrapment on Summit Bridge Rd at Pulaski Hwy. Engine 3 arrived to find one person trapped and one injured person criticality injured. Delaware State Police aviation was used to transport one patient. The second person unfortunately succumbed to their injuries. Units operated for one hour.

 

On August 11th, Box 1502 was sounded for a fire at the Governor Bacon Health Center in Delaware City. Engine 12 responded and arrived as the 3rd Engine. Engine 12 secured Engine 29’s water supply. Companies operated for one hour with a fire in the void space. There were no injuries.

 

On August 12th, Box 1213 was alerted for a fire in Wendy’s restaurant in the University Plaza Shopping Center. Engine 12 arrived to find smoke showing. The Engine secured a water supply and got an attack line stretched to the interior. Ladder 12 arrived and completed the searches. Units found a kitchen fire. The fire was extinguished and the restaurant was cleared of smoke. Ladder Company 9 checked the roof and there was no extension. Units operated for one hour.

 

On August 15th, Christiana Fire Company and Delaware City Fire Company were alerted to an MVC reported with entrapment and on fire at Red Lion Rd. and Wrangle Hill Rd. Units arrived to find no fire but one person trapped. The patient was extricated and transported to Christiana Trauma Center.
