On Sunday April 19th, CFC Fire Police, with fire police assistance from Delaware City, Mill Creek and Claymont, provided escort for Delmarva Power employees headed to the "Ride to the Tide" rally point at "The Bob". There they joined with others to make the eventful ride. More than 800 people participated in the motorcycle ride from Newark to Rehoboth Beach that raised money for Special Olympics Delaware. Motorcycle officers from several agencies led the ride with Fire Police from all over New Castle County assisting for the remainder of the ride.

The eighth-annual ride, which included 653 bikers and another 215 passengers, raised a record $32,500.
The ride ended at Jake’s Seafood House in Rehoboth Beach, where riders were treated to a free lunch.
Sunday’s ride was organized by the Delaware Blue Knights, a police motorcycle group.
