House Fire - Bear

On 11/12/13 at 0601 Box 1217 was sounded for a residental fire in Valley Wood. Engine 12,Ladder 12 and Deputy Chief 12 were quickly on the road. The Engine and the Ladder arrived at the same time to find the siding of a home that was extinguished. The siding was wet down and the assignment was reduced to the units of the scene. On 11/15/13 Box 1232 was sounded for the rear of a house on fire in the Bleecher Lot development off Salem Church Rd. Engine 3 arrived established a water supply and found a two story private dwelling with fire showing. An attack line was stretched and the water line was moved into the home. Ladder 12, Engine 12 and Engine 9 arrived next and placed two more hoselines in service while the Ladder got the searches competed along with the basement check. 40 Firefighters operated for two hours before controlling the fire. All searches proved negative. There were no injuries. Units remained on the scene for 3 and half hours. The Delaware State Fire Marshal investigated the fire.
